Hot tips for email marketers

When you think of email, most people think back to the days when the Nokia 3310 reigned supreme. A relic of the early 2000s. Archaic even.

But gone are the days where emails are associated with flip phones and crimped hair. Today email is one of the best marketing strategies you can use to grow your business.

So we’ve got some tips to help you improve your email copy:

1. Use simple language.

Your emails should be easy to read. Writing at a Grade 6 reading level is a great way to make sure your copy is digestible. You can use the Hemmingway tool to check what reading level you’re writing at.

2. Use shorter sentences.

‍Keep it short and sweet. This will help to increase the readability of your emails. Your customer shouldn't have to work hard to read your email.

3. Add personality.

Email is a conversational tool. Read your emails out loud and ask yourself "How would I change this if I was sending it to a close friend?" Try talking to your customers with a brand voice that they will remember.
